Support

Some trainees may require support during training:

  • learning difficulties
  • materials
  • interpreter/translator*
  • oral rather than written assessments
  • counselling or health concerns

Trainees should discuss their specific needs with their trainer who will refer such matters to the Major Oak Safety Training for the provision of the support service.

Literacy and Numeracy

When applying to attend any Major Oak Safety Training course, prospective trainees will be asked to complete a Training Application Form. Please ensure that you honestly respond to these questions on that form:

  • I have some difficulties with speaking in English
  • I have some difficulties in writing
  • I sometimes need help with reading
  • I sometimes need help with numbers and calculations

Your situation will be discussed with you by our training staff and may also be discussed with your employer. Whilst assistance and guidance can sometimes be provided by the trainer during our courses, if we believe that you have insufficient literacy and numeracy skills in English to complete the course, regrettably, we cannot accept you for training.
