Ships Crane Operator Unit Standard 20048

Course Aim
Trainees will be able to apply theory and skills in lifting and placing loads with a ships crane and analyse and evaluate processes, through practical experience.

This course is based on coaching and assessment only and is designed for trainees with experience in ships crane operation.

Combining theory and practical assessments participants will demonstrate the following skills.
 

Course Overview
Theory and practical assessments covering the following: 

  • Describe factors affecting the operation of a ship’s crane
  • Prepare for cargo operations with a ship’s crane
  • Control and move loads with a ship’s crane
  • Park and shut down a ship’s crane in a port environment.

Prerequisites

  • Unit Standard 20054: Carry out hatchperson duties for cargo operations, or demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills.

Operate a ship's crane in a port environment- Level 3, Credits 6

Attendance Numbers: Minimum 1 - maximum

Course Duration: Full day course

Course Location: TBC

Course Costs: $1,700.00+gst per day

Transit Days: $1,200.00+gst + .95c+gst per km 

All other associated costs to be priced at the time including but not limited to flights, accommodation & meal allowances.
