Fire/Emergency Warden Training Unit Standard 18408

Course Overview
This course will give you an in-depth understanding of the duties of a Fire and Emergency Warden in accordance with:

• Health and Safety at Work Act 2015
• Fire and Emergency New Zealand (Fire Safety, Evacuation Procedures, and
• Evacuation Schemes) Regulations 2018
• Fire Safety and Evacuation of Buildings Regulations 2006 (now revoked)
• Fire Service Act 1975
• Biosecurity Act 1993
• Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 (now amended to 2015)
• Resource Management Act 1991

As well as the practical skills to effectively evacuate the workplace in event of a fire or emergency.

Also included is fire extinguisher knowledge and familiarization.

Course Prerequisites

• Use of a training room for the duration of the course
• Copies of company templates for emergency evacuation/sweep plan, equipment checklist’s

(If you do not have these currently in place this course will teach you, and enable you to write and implement them for your business)

• We will provide examples and templates for the training

NZQA Unit Standards

18408: Demonstrate knowledge of fire and emergency warden duties in the workplace- Level 3 Credits 3

3271 & 4647: (Optional fire extinguisher units)

Attendance Numbers: Minimum of 4, maximum of 14 per session

Course Duration: Approx. 4 hours (Fire Warden only), Approx. 6 ½ hours (required if extinguisher training is added)

Course Location: Delivered on customers’ site

Course Cost: Option 1: $1,200+gst per session (Refresher is same price)

Course Cost: Option 2: $2,400+gst per session ( Fire warden & Extinguisher)

Mileage: $120.00+gst to Auckland, Hamilton & Tauranga and $1+gst per km everywhere else

Optional: Plastic Wallet Card $18+gst per person

Fire extinguisher unit standards $150.00+gst per person

(Minimum number charges will be applied if minimum numbers not met)
