Fire/Emergency Warden Training Unit Standard 18408

Course Overview
This course will give you an in-depth understanding of the duties of a Fire and Emergency Warden in accordance with;

  • Health and Safety at Work Act 2015
  • Fire and Emergency New Zealand (Fire Safety, Evacuation Procedures, and
  • Evacuation Schemes) Regulations 2018
  • Fire Safety and Evacuation of Buildings Regulations 2006 (now revoked)
  • Fire Service Act 1975
  • Biosecurity Act 1993
  • Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 (now amended to 2015)
  • Resource Management Act 1991

As well as the practical skills to effectively evacuate the workplace in event of a fire or emergency.

Also included is fire extinguisher knowledge and familiarization.

Course Prerequisites

  • Use of a training room for the duration of the course
  • Copies of company templates for emergency evacuation/sweep plan, equipment checklist’s

If you do not have these currently in place this course will teach you, and enable you to write and implement them for your business.We will provide examples and templates for the training.

NZQA Unit Standards

18408: Demonstrate knowledge of fire and emergency warden duties in the workplace - Level 3, Credits 3

3271 & 4647: (Optional fire extinguisher units)

Attendance Numbers: Minimum 4 - maximum 14 

Course Duration: Approx. 4 hours (additional time may be required if extinguisher training is added)

Course Location: Delivered on customers’ site

Course Cost: $220.00+gst per person (Refresher is same price)

Mileage$100.00+gst to Auckland, Hamilton & Tauranga and .95c+gst per km everywhere else

Optional - Plastic Wallet Card $15+gst per person

Fire extinguisher introduction and simulation $120.00+gst per person for the group

Fire extinguisher unit standards and simulation $55.00+gst per person
