Course Aim
This course is based on industry best practice and designed for people with experience in the rigging of complex or irregular loads in crane operation environments.

Combining theory and practical assessments participants will demonstrate the following skills.

Course Overview

Theory and practical assessments covering the following: 

  • Describe the purpose and use of types of lifting equipment
  • Select lifting equipment and apply sling and lifting gear to the load
  • Select and apply packing and dunnage to crane lift situations
  • Prepare and sling complex loads
  • Identify factors affecting the safe operation of the crane

Prerequisites

  • Minimum 28 working days practice on slinging complex or irregular loads
  • Must hold unit standard 3789
  • 6 months experience as a Dogman advisable

Prepare and sling complex loads for crane operations - Level 4, Credits 25

Attendance Numbers: Minimum of 3, maximum of 6 per session

Course Duration: Approx. 8 hours (course pre-reading required)

Course Location: TBC

Course Costs: $650+gst per person

Mileage: $85+gst to Auckland, Hamilton & Tauranga and .95c+gst per km everywhere else

Credit reporting costs not charged when minimum attendance is met (credit reporting cost - $10 per credit)
