5 Day Mobile Crane Operator Training and Assessment Course

These Packages are tailored help people gain experience and employment into specific industries, based around New Zealand industry needs and requirements. Course Aim
Trainees will be able to apply theory and skills in lifting and placing loads with a mobile crane and analyse and evaluate processes, through practical experience.

It is designed to take people with experience as Dogman on to the next stage of their career by being gaining experience, time and knowledge in a controlled real mobile crane environment to be able to successfully complete their assessment in mobile crane operation.

This course is includes full training sessions of  theory, simulation, and actual 25t mobile crane operations followed by final assessment.

Course Overview

All crane, lifting equipment, simulator and access to loads is fully included in the course.

 
Theory, simulation and practical training followed by final assessments covering the following: 

• Configure and position a mobile crane
• Use of ropes, reeving, hook block, hook and rigging equipment for lifting regular loads
• Lift planning
• Lift and place regular loads
• Lift and place irregular loads
• Prepare mobile crane for road travel mode
• Understand and complete documentation for crane travel
• Communication with other lifting crew

Prerequisites

• Unit Standard 3789 Sling regular loads and communicate during crane operations

NZQA Unit Standard
3795: Configure and position a mobile crane, and lift and place regular and irregular loads- Level 4 Credits 25

Attendance Numbers: Maximum 4 per session

Course Duration: Approx. 5 full days 08:30 – 16:30
