Wharf Gantry Crane Operator Unit Standard 20585

Course Aim
Trainees will be able to apply theory and skills in lifting and placing loads with a wharf gantry crane and analyse and evaluate processes, through practical experience.

This course is based on coaching and assessment only and is designed for trainees with experience in wharf gantry crane operation.

Combining theory and practical assessments participants will demonstrate the following skills.
 

Course Overview
Theory and practical assessments covering the following: 

 

  • Describe factors affecting the operation of a wharf gantry crane
  • Prepare for cargo exchange with the wharf gantry crane
  • Carry out cargo exchange with the wharf gantry crane
  • Conclude operations with the wharf gantry crane.

 

 

Prerequisites

  • Unit Standard 3787, Demonstrate knowledge of regulatory requirements relating to cranes
  • Unit Standard 20053, Demonstrate knowledge of the care and handling of cargo lifting equipment and safe slinging of loads; or demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills.
  • A selection of cargo exchange plans will need to be provided showing types of vessels and cargo candidate has work with prior to final assessment.

Course Costs:                           $2,400.00+gst per day

 

Transit Days:                           $1,200.00+gst + $1+gst per km 

 

Mileage: $120.00+gst to Auckland, Hamilton & Tauranga and $1+gst per km everywhere else

 

All other associated costs to be priced at the time including but not limited to flights, accommodation & meal allowances. 

(Minimum number charges will be applied if minimum numbers are not met)
