Demonstrate Knowledge of Regulatory Requirements Relating to Cranes Unit Standard 3787

Course Aim
This is a theory-based unit only and designed for trainees to prove their understanding and knowledge of crane types and the regulatory requirements based on type and application.

Course Overview
Theory assessments covering the following: 

  • The main types and categories of cranes
  • Safe practices in crane operations
  • Regulatory requirements including;
    • Health and safety at work act 2015; HSE Act Codes of Practice; Resource Management Act 1991, Building Act 2004; Health and Safety in Employment (Pressure Equipment, Cranes, and Passenger Ropeways) Regulations 1999; Civil Aviation Act 1990; Land Transport New Zealand (LTNZ) – Certificate of Registration, Road User Licence, Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Dimensions and Mass 2002; Vehicle Inspection New Zealand (VINZ) – Certificate of Fitness, Certificate of Loading; The Official New Zealand Road Code for Heavy Vehicle Drivers 2004; Approved Code of Practice for Load-Lifting Rigging; Approved Code of Practice for Cranes.

Attendance Numbers: Minimum 4, maximum 10

Course Duration: Approx. 4 hours for experienced operator or refresher (Course pre reading required)

Course Location: TBC

Course Costs: $1,200+gst per person

Mileage: $120.00+gst to Auckland, Hamilton & Tauranga and $1+gst per km everywhere else

(Minimum number charges will be applied if minimum numbers not met)
