Offshore Crane Operator (within platform) Unit Standard 32093

Course Aim
Trainees will be able to apply theory and skills in lifting and placing loads with an offshore platform crane within the confines of  the platform and analyse and evaluate processes, through practical experience.

This course is based on coaching and assessment only and is designed for trainees with experience in offshore platform crane operation.

Combining theory and practical assessments participants will demonstrate the following skills.
 

Course Overview
Theory and practical assessments covering the following: 

  • Demonstrate knowledge of an offshore platform crane and associated equipment
  • Describe and apply offshore installation procedures for platform crane operations
  • Operate a platform crane on an offshore installation
  • Put a platform crane into out-of-service condition on an offshore installation
  • Return lifting and other equipment to storage
  • Carry out and record regular checks and servicing for a platform crane on an offshore installation.

Prerequisites

  • Evidence of experience in an environment where cranes are operating

32093: 
Operate, lift, and place loads with a platform crane on an offshore installation - Level 4, Credits 5

Attendance Numbers: Minimum 1 - maximum 

Course Duration: Full day course

Course Location: TBC

Course Costs: $1,900.00+gst per day

Transit Days: $1,200.00+gst + .95c+gst per km 

Mileage: .95c per km

All other associated costs to be priced at the time including but not limited to flights, accommodation & meal allowances.
