Crane / Site Supervisors Unit Standards 31902 & 31903

Course Aim
This course is designed for crane / site supervisors that wish to obtain formal recognition in the area of health and safety management requirements for workers on a crane’s site as well as leading the crane team.
Course Overview
Theory and practical assessments covering the following:
- demonstrate knowledge of the legislative and workplace health and safety requirements for workers on a crane’s site
- Explain how to manage workers on a crane’s site to ensure compliance with legislative and workplace health and safety requirements
- Demonstrate knowledge of leadership in crane operations
- Lead other operations on a shared cranes workplace
- Instruct a team in the setting-up and monitoring of a crane exclusion zone
Prerequisites
- Whilst there are no unit standard prerequisites the candidate must be in a role where they can demonstrate they are leading /supervising a team or working towards it with a current employer.
31902: Demonstrate knowledge of health and safety management requirements for workers on a crane’s site – Level 4, Credits 5
31903: Lead a team during crane operations – Level 4, Credits 10
Attendance Numbers: Minimum 2 – maximum 4
Course Duration: Approx. 6-8hrs dependent on experience
Course Location: TBC
Course Costs: $1,200.00+gst per person
Mileage: $120.00+gst to Auckland, Hamilton & Tauranga and $1+gst per km everywhere else
(Minimum number charges will be applied if minimum numbers not met)
